BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior right-side hitter Lauren Ditteon has been named All-Big Ten honorable mention, announced the league office. The announcement was made Monday night on the Big Ten Network's Big Ten Women's Show.
Ditteon racked up eight double-doubles on the year, and came just one block shy of pulling off the triple-double on two different occasions. She flashed her versatility and consistency all season long by totaling 261 kills, 254 digs, 38 service aces and 95 total blocks while playing in all 117 games.
"I'm excited for Lauren to receive this honor in her final season of play at Indiana," said Head Coach Sherry Dunbar. "She emerged this year as a `go-to' player and helped the program take steps forward."
For her career, Ditteon missed just one match in four years donning the Cream and Crimson. In that time she put together numbers that have placed her name into the school record books. Her 1,068 career kills are the 12th highest total in IU history. Also, her 267 total blocks and 94 aces place her 13th and 15th all-time, respectively.
