BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The accolades of the Indiana men's golf team on the course have been well documented this fall. However, the team turned in an equally impressive performance in the classroom during the fall semester.
Nine of the 11 Hoosiers recorded grade point averages over 3.0 and the team collected a sterling GPA over 3.3. The total is the highest in head coach Mike Mayer's near 20-year association with the IU program.
"I am so proud of every player on our team," Mayer said. "What a wonderful Christmas present they have given to me. Their passion, both in the classroom and on the golf course, is unparalleled and we will take that passion and continue to do great things this coming spring and in the years to come."
The Hoosiers return to the links at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate on Feb. 16-18. It will be hosted by the University of North Florida at Sawgrass Country Club in Point Vedra, Fla.
