What a trip!! Friday was the start to our fiesta, aka spring break 2007! We started our trip on Friday at the crack of dawn. This was just the beginning of our travels. On Friday, we flew into San Francisco and loaded up the vans. We checked into our hotel room and immediately went to dinner at Double D's. Our van ended up being 45 minutes late to dinner due to minor difficulties. By minor difficulties, I mean we got lost! After arriving late, we watched the Indiana vs. Illinois basketball game. Although a little disappointed at the result, we left in good spirits and with full bellies. We then went back to the hotel and hit the hay.

Saturday we hit the road again. A little disappointed by the continental breakfast, we started on our way to San Jose. We came out on the short end of the game to San Jose. People were very impressed with our great Indiana tans, a.k.a. pale body color. We proceed towards Davis. On our way to Davis we took a quick stop at the JELLY BELLY FACTORY! Some of our group members had a few problems with the strict laws of the Jelly Belly factory, as hats must be worn at all times while on tour. After we emptied out the jelly belly belly flops, we finished our travels to Davis, where we checked in, and were on our own for dinner. While walking home from dinner Kristin (Zernicke) decided to try out a new hobby of fireball dancing. It was quite elegant and graceful. We retired to our rooms to get some good rest for our match against Davis on Sunday.

Our breakfast seems to get better and better each day as we filled our bellies with an assortment of continental goodness. We left for the pool dressed in crimson ... yes, we were red hot! Despite our best efforts and good looks we fell short to the Aggies. After our good salads at Pluto's we headed to the hometown of Kara (Woolley) and Barry (King). Driving into the beautiful city of Fresno, Kara gave a very enthusiastic nostalgia tour. Arriving at our hotel, Steff (Stefanie Winter) and JT (Jaclyn Tameris) were lucky enough to get the suite and felt it necessary to gloat in their good fortune. P.S. We all had suites!

Monday was our day off from competition so we woke for a practice at Kara's hometown pool. After a quick stop at everyone's favorite smoothie spot we began our adventure to see some really big trees at Yosemite National Park. It doesn't end here folks...it seemed that driving up winding roads for hours on end took its toll on everyone's jelly bellies. When we arrived at the top some of us thought taking a three-mile hike would be a refreshing idea. After all, it was called "Happy Isles." Great idea, guys. Our day continued when we descended from the park to arrive at the Woolley residence for a home cooked feast. Best dinner yet! We rolled back to our beds and slept off the day.

We were on the road again on Tuesday for a nice scenic ride to Bakersfield. Tuesday we won our first game against Claremont. Go Girls! After our win we headed once again to our favorite smoothie spot. We then played against Bakersfield, where our true spring break attitudes came out. Even after a battle, we fell short of Bakersfield. After the game we saddled up and were off again off to San Francisco, our final destination. In spite of our short attention spans, our van enjoyed a friendly game of hot apple.

After riding in the van for six hours and playing every game we could think of, we arrived at our final hotel destination for the first round of spring break 2007. It was about midnight when we rolled in. We walked in the room and hit the sack because the alarm rang at 4:30 a.m. With smiling faces, we headed to the airport for our flight back to Bloomington.
