Roberts Leads Hoosier Charge at Zones

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Junior Taylor Roberts paced Indiana's diving effort with a fifth-place finish on the one-meter springboard at the Zone C Championships at the University of Michigan's Canham Natatorium on Friday, March 2.
Roberts advanced to the finals of the event with a preliminary score of 304.65, good for sixth place. The Aurora, Colo., native ran his total to 633.20 in the finals, moving up one spot.
Indiana sophomore Will Bohonyi turned in a 31st-place finish in the preliminary round, amassing 224.80 points. Freshman David Piercy was 34th in his first career Zone Championships performance, as he totaled 220.95 points in the opening round.
The Zone Championships continue on Saturday, March 3, with the three-meter competition. The platform will be contested on Sunday, March 4. Roberts, Bohonyi, Piercy and junior David Legler are all vying for spots at the NCAA Championships, held March 15-17 in Minneapolis. Seven male divers from Zone C will advance.
