Hoosiers Announce Spring Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana volleyball team will play a four-tournament spring schedule, head coach Sherry Dunbar has announced. The Hoosiers will face off against a bevy of regional competition during the spring, including one Big Ten program.
IU beings its spring schedule on March 24, when it travels to Louisville for a double round robin tournament. With three teams in attendance, the Hoosiers will face off against both Southern Illinois (11 a.m. and 3 p.m.) and host Louisville (12 p.m. and 4 p.m.) twice each on the day.
On April 7, the Hoosiers will head up to West Lafayette, where they will join Valparaiso in a pair of matches hosted by Purdue. It is then on to Indianapolis, as the Hoosiers will participate in a spring tournament at the Team Indiana club facility on April 14. Indiana State, IPFW, IUPUI, Middle Tennessee, Cincinnati and Western Kentucky will all be playing in the day-long event.
Indiana will wrap up its spring schedule at home at University Gym on April 21. The Hoosiers will host IUPUI, Ball State and Western Kentucky for the tournament, which will be played on two courts in the U-Gym. The Hoosiers will take on IUPUI at 9:30 a.m., Ball State at 11 a.m., Indiana State at 2:30 p.m. and close out the event with a matchup against Western Kentucky at 4 p.m.
In addition, Ball State and Indiana State will face off at 9:30, Western Kentucky and IUPUI play at 11, IUPUI and Ball State take on each other at 1, Western Kentucky and Indiana State play at 1, Western Kentucky and Ball State play at 2:30 and Indiana State and IUPUI close out the event at 4.
This will the first live-game action for new IU head coach Dunbar, who took over the program in December. In four years as the head coach at the College of Charleston, she compiled an overall record of 113-22, won four Southern Conference regular season titles, three Southern Conference Tournament titles and took three trips to the NCAA Regionals.
