Catching Up With Suzie Teixeira

Throughout the spring of 2007, IUHOOSIERS.com will catch up with different members of the women's soccer team as they go through their spring season. The interview for Friday, March 23, is with senior forward Suzie Teixeira.
What is your favorite memory from last season?
"My favorite memory was when Ali Brown scored two goals and came over and "shot" the bench with her "guns." It was a great moment for Ali, and it was really exciting to watch."
What can we expect from the returnees in leading the fresh faces in
2007?
"We have a really strong senior class and we all get along really well. I'm confident that we will pull together, create a great team atmosphere and win some games!"
How has the spring gone for you so far?
"The spring has gone well. We've had some minor injuries, so our numbers have been low for some of the practices, but all in all we've been working really hard and really getting to know each other better. It's been great."
Growing up in Indianapolis, what has it been like to wear the
Indiana jersey?
"Indiana has such a great reputation, especially within the state, and I was really interested in the school long before I committed to come here. The honor to wear the Indiana jersey coming from an Indianapolis high school makes me extremely proud."
What is your favorite place for a road trip?
"I like going to Penn State because their field and stadium are awesome."
What did you do in the offseason?
"Ran, lifted and practiced!"
Who has improved the most in the off season?
"I would have to say Natalie O'Bryan because she has been working so hard and she's been really great. In our first spring games a few weekends ago, she really stepped up her play, demonstrating how excited she is to be here. She's just a great player."
With this being your last season, what is your greatest expectation?
"The only thing I expect from next season is to have fun and play well."
What is your hardest class of the semester?
"My hardest class is S326 Spanish Linguistics because I really don't like it."
What is the best part about being a student-athlete?
"Making great friends on the team because you go through so much together and after it is all said and done, you know that you'll be friends with these people forever."
