Hoosiers Visit Local Boys and Girls Club

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Members of the Indiana men's soccer team visited the Bloomington Boys and Girls Club recently to celebrate National Boys and Girls Club Week, held March 25-31, 2007.
Chris Munroe, Charley Traylor and Billy Weaver served as goalkeepers for the club's soccer shootout. Club members had 45 seconds to score as many goals as they could on the Indiana players. Afterwards, the Hoosiers did tricks and played games with the kids.
"It was a great experience to be able to work with the kids of the Boys and Girls Club," Traylor said. "They seemed to have a really good time. It feels good to know that you can impact the lives of young children."
For Weaver, the experience brought back memories of his own childhood.
"It was really special for me because I went to a Boys and Girls Club for a number of years growing up," Weaver said. "It was nice to be able to give back."
Indiana is currently in the middle of its spring campaign. The team faces Saint Louis in its next spring game on Saturday, March 31, at 6 p.m.
