White, Wilmont and Calloway Earn All-Big Ten Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana senior guards Roderick Wilmont and Earl Calloway joined junior forward D.J. White in earning All-Big Ten honors, the league announced this morning. White collected second team accolades from the conference coaches and media, while Wilmont picked up third team honors from the coaches and the media. Calloway secured honorable mention recognition from the media. Additionally, senior guard Errek Suhr was selected as Indiana's representative for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award (each institution had one honoree).
The 2005 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and honorable mention selection, White led the team (conference games) with 6.4 rebounds (sixth), 1.81 blocks (second) and shot 51.9 percent (seventh) in 31.9 minutes. He recorded three 20-point games, 11 games in double figures and two 10-plus rebounding outings while finishing second on the team with 13.6 points per game (tie for 12th).
One of the 30 finalists for the Naismith Award and a first team NABC All-District 10 member, White leads the Hoosiers overall with 13.7 points (11th), 6.8 boards (sixth), 2.21 blocks (second) and 51.8-percent shooting (sixth) in 31.1 minutes.
Wilmont is coming off his first Big Ten Player of the Week honor, where he recorded back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 26.0 points and 11.5 rebounds as the Hoosiers clinched sole possession of third place with victories at Northwestern and against Penn State. The Miramar, Fla., native scored a career-high 31 points and matched a career best with 12 rebounds against the Wildcats and hit a school record nine 3-pointers in 13 attempts (fourth most in school history).
He led the team in scoring in league games with 13.8 points and is second overall at 12.8. Additionally, Wilmont is second on the team with 5.9 boards per game. He ranks sixth in the Big Ten (overall games) with 2.41 3-pointers made per game and sat fifth in league games only with 2.63 treys made per contest.
Calloway returned to the starting lineup following a shoulder injury and netted his second career double-double with 15 points and a career-high 11 assists, as Indiana disposed of Penn State. He shot 6-of-9 from the floor and committed just one turnover in 31 minutes.
The Atlanta native is fifth in the league with 4.27 assists per game and a 1.88 assist/turnover ratio. Calloway has started 22 games this season and appeared in 26, averaging 9.7 points in 27.0 minutes. He also is fourth in the league with a team-best 82.4 free throw percentage.
Indiana clinched sole possession of third place in the Big Ten and the third seed in the conference tournament with its 94-63 victory over Penn State on Saturday. The Hoosiers head to Chicago to face the winner of the Illinois-Penn State game on Friday, March 9. The game will be televised on ESPN Plus with a 9:10 p.m. EST tip.
