Harris Named IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - On a weekly basis, iuhoosiers.com will recognize top academic performances by Hoosier student-athletes with the IU Scholar-Athlete of the Week award. For the week ending April 8, junior women's golfer Elaine Harris earned the honor as selected by IU Athletics' Academic Services.
Harris, a native of San Francisco, Calif., recently captured her first tournament medalist honor at the Mountain View Collegiate. She has also earned two Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors this season.
According to academic advisor Linda Tatum, Harris has also had great success off the course as well.
""Elaine Harris is a positive, thoughtful young woman who excels in both the classroom and on the golf course," Tatum said. "She's the type of student-athlete who also thinks about other students, her community and making a positive difference in whatever environment she is in."
