Hoosiers Host Weekend Affair

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's soccer team will host its final home weekend of the 2007 spring season on April 14-15. The Hoosiers start things off with a game against an alumni squad on Saturday. On Sunday, IU will play a pair of games, the first against Miami (Ohio) at 1 p.m. EDT and the second against Evansville at 4 p.m.
The alumni contest will feature all-time greats, such as Wendy Dillinger and Kara Bryan, and last year's seniors, including Carrie DeFreece and Ali Brown. The game will be played at 1 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium, weather permitting.
On Sunday, the Hoosiers start things off with a contest against the RedHawks, as IU seeks to avenge its first loss of the spring, to Missouri last weekend. Miami advanced to the Mid-American Conference Semifinals a year ago, and lost nine letterwinners from that team, including three all-MAC honorees.
The Hoosiers will rematch against the Purple Aces in the second game of the day, as Evansville will seek to avenge a 1-0 loss to the Hoosiers last season on Oct. 4. UE advanced to the Missouri Valley Conference finals a year ago, but came up one game short of a trip to the NCAA Tournament. Both games are scheduled to be played at Armstrong Stadium.
Also in attendance will be Washington University in St. Louis, coached by Dillinger. The Hoosiers will not face off with the Bears, but the Bears will take on Evansville at 1 p.m. and Miami at 4 p.m. Those games will take place on the IU Women's Soccer Practice Field, located behind University Gym at the corner of 10th and the 45/46 Bypass.
Indiana is 3-1-2 so far in the spring season with five shutouts to its credit.
