Indiana Ends Regular Season With Michigan, Penn State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana closes out its regular season schedule at Michigan and Penn State. The Hoosiers take on Michigan on Saturday, April 21, at noon, and face the Nittany Lions on Sunday, April 22, at noon.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers split a pair of Big Ten matches the weekend of April 14-15, falling to No. 9 Illinois, 5-2, and defeating rival Purdue, 6-1.
THE WEEK AHEAD
Michigan (17-4, 7-1 Big Ten), ranked 17th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll, is led by Matko Maravic and Brian Hung, who are ranked 44th and 45th, respectively, in the singles rankings. The duo also team up at No. 1 doubles for the Wolverines.
Penn State (15-4, 5-3 Big Ten) is ranked 41st by the ITA. Michael James, ranked 92nd in singles, plays at No. 1, and teams with Ryan Berger at No. 1 doubles.
HOOSIERS IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Indiana earned a ranking of No. 64 in the latest ITA Fila Collegiate Rankings, released on April 17. The Hoosiers have been ranked as high as No. 56 in the ITA rankings this season (Jan. 10).
RICHTER HONORED BY BIG TEN
Junior Thomas Richter, a transfer from Birmingham-Southern, has made an immediate impact after joining the Hoosiers for the spring season. Richter was named Big Ten Athlete of the Week on April 11, after going 4-0 at No. 1 singles and doubles against Wisconsin. He was ranked No. 103 in the ITA singles rankings on March 20, his first ranking of the year. Richter is 12-7 in singles and 13-6 in doubles this season with Dara McLoughlin. The duo have been ranked as high as No. 58 this year.
BUBENICEK REACHES 20 WINS
Senior David Bubenicek became the first Indiana player to reach 20 wins this season with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over No. 110 Andy Juc of Furman, giving him 20 wins in three consecutive seasons. He is currently 25-11 on the year in singles and 16-11 in doubles. Bubenicek was ranked 48th in the first ITA singles rankings of the year. He has also been ranked in doubles with Dara McLoughlin. The duo has been ranked as high as 50th this season.
ALSO AT 20 WINS
Senior Arnoud Roussel earned his 20th victory of the year against Iowa on March 25. Junior Dara McLoughlin reached 20 wins against Northwestern on April 8.
MCLOUGHLIN STEPS UP
Junior Dara McLoughlin is 22-7 in doubles this season. He has teamed with both David Bubenicek (9-1) and Thomas Richter (13-6) this year. McLoughlin was ranked as high as 50th with Bubenicek, and 56th with Richter.
