As part of an ongoing series, IUHOOSIERS.com will take a look back at each week in Indiana athletics history. This week spotlights April 23-29.
April 23, 1988 - Teresa Raine threw the third of her three career no-hitters, keeping Iowa off the board in a 1-0 win. Raine threw 7 innings, allowing just a single walk and striking out two Hawkeye batters.
April 25, 2006 - Then-sophomore Doug Fleenor flirted with history in his first career start for the Hoosiers, as he didn't allow a hit through 6 2/3 innings against Miami (Ohio). Fleenor lost his bid for the no-hitter with two outs in the seventh, but settled for the one-hitter as IU blanked the RedHawks, 5-0.
April 26-27, 2003 - Indiana's water polo team won its only Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) championship, taking down Brown, 7-5, to advance to the NCAA Final Four. The Hoosiers topped George Washington (9-6) and Princeton (5-1) on April 26 to advance to the title game before knocking off the Bears in the Eastern Championship final on the 27th.
April 26, 1992 - The Indiana men's tennis team capped a 9-1 year in the Big Ten with a 9-0 shellacking of Penn State to close out the regular season. Chris Angell led Indiana at No. 1 singles. Head coach Ken Hydinger was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year following the season.
April 25, 2004 - The Hoosiers defeated Purdue, 4-3, to cap an eight-match winning streak in Big Ten competition. The team closed its season with a 9-1 Big Ten record and earned a share of the Big Ten regular season championship. The team was led by All-Americans Linda Tran and Sarah Batty.
