Women's Soccer Faces Missouri in Spring Showdown

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's soccer team will travel to St. Louis this weekend to try and keep its undefeated spring season in tact against Missouri on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Hoosiers are 3-0-2 so far this spring and are yet to allow a goal on the season.
The Tigers enter the contest with a 3-1 record in the spring season. On March 12, MU shut out Southeast Missouri 2-0 on a pair of goals by Aria Hudetz in the team's only outdoor action so far this spring. The Tigers also went 2-1 in a trio of indoor contests at the Iowa Bubble Tournament on Feb. 27. Iowa toppled MU at the round robin, but Mizzou scored wins over Drake and North Dakota State.
The Hoosiers are fresh off a pair of victories in Fort Wayne, Ind., last weekend. IU toppled Valparaiso 3-0 and Cincinnati 2-0 on the day, with Christie Kotynski scoring a goal in each contest. Suzie Teixeira, Jessica Boots and Kristin Arnold each tallied goals as well for the Hoosiers, who have shut out each of their opponents this spring. The 2006 IU squad allowed 15 goals, the fewest in program history.
The Indiana-Missouri contest is a marquee affair at the St. Louis High School Soccer Tournament. Missouri finished 2006 with a 10-9 overall record.
