April 9, 2006: Indiana's first varsity eight tied the school record with its eighth head-to-head triumph of the season. Betsy Hibbard (cox), Ashley Airis (stroke), Elisabeth Benoit, Laura Lazaridis, Laura Stebbins, Courtney Valerious, Rozzie McHenry, Colleen Ryan and Elaine Deppe (bow) fell to defending national champion California, but topped Purdue for the V8's record-tying win.
April 10, 1991: Michael Smith set a school record by recording a pair of triples in an 11-8 loss to Cincinnati. Smith's three-baggers were two of his career-high eight on the season. Over his four-year career, Smith compiled a .369 batting average with 43 doubles, 16 triples, 47 home runs and 185 RBIs. The 1992 Sporting News Player of the Year, Smith won the Triple Crown that season, becoming the only collegiate player ever to do so.
April 10, 1999: Indiana's water polo team went 3-0 on day two of the Big Ten Tournament, picking wins over Illinois (9-3), Michigan State (9-3) and Northwestern (7-1) to advance to the title game of the tournament for the second straight year. Molly Fonner had three goals each against Illinois and Northwestern, while Kara Fellerhoff notched four against the Spartans.
April 12, 1955: Bill Dooley and Harold Summers combined for the third no-hitter in Indiana history, blanking Bakalar AFB 21-0. Dooley got the start and allowed just a single walk in 4 innings with eight strikeouts, while Summers finished the job with 3 perfect innings, in which he struck out six.
April 13, 2006: Jessica Gall, Indiana lone women's distance runner competing at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays, turned in one of the most prolific 10,000-meter times in school history as she reached an NCAA provisional mark. Gall recorded a personal best in the 10k as she finished in ninth place with a time of 34:32.36. Teammate Tim McLeod recorded his own personal best at the Mt. Sac Relays with a time of 32:19.46 in the 10k.
