ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Members of the Indiana women's golf team will be checking in each day from the NCAA Central Regional, held at the University of Michigan Golf Course. Freshman Laura Nochta shared her thoughts on the fourth day of the trip and the second round of the tournament with IUHOOSIERS.com.
On what the week has been like overall: "I'm just really really proud of everyone and what we've accomplished this year. All of our hard work is finally paying off, and we're just doing an amazing job. Our team chemistry and how we are sticking together and believing in each other, that's really pushing us this week."
On the fans that the team has following them: "I think it just gives us a lot of power and encourages us to make great shots and keep our heads up. Even if something goes wrong, we just pick it up and do better the next shot. It's really intimidating for other teams, and I think its nice to have that kind of intimidation."
On her favorite moment of the week: "I think all of us on the last hole the first day. We were just all sitting there watching Anita (Gahir) finish and having her hole out on the last hole, with all of us cheering together, laughing and smiling, just really enjoying the moment - that was the best."
On what the team is looking to do tomorrow: "Our goal is to do what we have been doing this week, focus on every shot and try our best on every single swing and win every single shot. Just keep doing what we are doing, stay patient and just have fun."
