May 7, 2006 - Indiana's softball team picked up a 5-2 win over Purdue in West Lafayette in its regular-season finale to clinch a spot in the Big Ten Championship. Mariangee Bogado and Jennilee Huddleston were both 2-for-4 in the win, while Rachel Terry's two-run single in the fifth proved decisive. Bogado also picked up the win in the circle. The Hoosiers would go on to win a game at the tournament, and were later selected to participate in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996.
May 8, 1983 - IU women's tennis team won its third straight Big Ten Tournament title with a 5-4 win over Northwestern. The title was Indiana's fourth straight league crown overall, and was part of a run of 15 titles in 19 years for the Hoosiers.
May 9, 1997 - The Hoosiers' men's tennis team played in its first-ever NCAA Tournament match, falling to Big Ten foe Northwestern, 4-1. Indiana won a hard-fought doubles point, with George McGill and Derek Pope taking a 9-8 (8-6) win at No. 1 and Anton Klaric and Gabreil Montilla earning a 9-8 (8-6) at No. 2.
May 10-11, 2003 - Indiana's water polo team made its first-ever appearance at the NCAA Final Four, and wrapped up the season with a 26-11 overall mark. The Hoosiers went 7-1 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association play, and won their first CWPA Championship.a
May 12, 1999 - Bob Morgan picked up his 900th career win as a head coach as Indiana's baseball team topped Valparaiso, 14-2. Morgan's win made him just the 28th coach in NCAA history to reach the 900-win plateau. Morgan amassed a record of 782-499-4 during his 22 years at the helm of the IU program, and wrapped up his 30-year career in 2005 with an overall record of 1,070-586-6.
