ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Members of the Indiana women's golf team will be checking in each day from the NCAA Central Regional, held at the University of Michigan Golf Course. Junior transfer Lauren Harling shared her thoughts on the second day of the trip with IUHOOSIERS.com.
On the inclement weather for the practice round: "For the past few tournaments we've had to be prepared for different weather situations. We've not gotten practice rounds in before, so I think we all have a good mindset going in and we feel really prepared."
On what she is looking forward to most at the event: "I'm just looking forward to playing. This is my first regional tournament since my freshman year, and I'm looking forward to just going out there and playing like I know we can."
On what the team did during the weather delay: "We just had some snacks, played some poker, just laughed and talked with all of our friends that play with other teams, just caught up and hung out, pretty much."
On how she thinks her previous regional experience will help her this week: "I just know that the regionals are just another tournament. It is a great honor to be here, obviously, and qualify for postseason play, but it's another tournament and we have to get the job done like we would at any other tournament. Going in with that mindset and really being determined to qualify for nationals is what's important."
