Overton Collects Top 10 at St. Jude

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Playing in his fourth PGA Tour event of the season, Jeff Overton tied for 10th place at the Stanford St. Jude Championship Sunday afternoon. The former Hoosier All-American finished the event at 2-under 278 for his first top 10 this season and the third of his young career.
Overton concluded the tournament with a 4-under-par 66 to move 15 spots up the leaderboard. After opening with a pair of 71s, the Evansville, Ind., native shot an even-par 70 in round three before Sunday's 66.
In addition to Overton, former Hoosier and 2003 PGA champion Shaun Micheel tied for 12th place. Micheel rattled off three consecutive 69s following an openining 72 to finish at 1-under 279.
Overton has made two cuts and finished in the top 25 both times. He moved into 150th place on the money list and will return to action on the Nationwide Tour next weekend at the Rochester Area Charities Showdown at Somerby.
Woody Austin won the event following an 8-under-par 62 in the final round. Austin totaled a 13-under 267 to capture the victory by five strokes over Brian Davis.
