Day one of the ITA Regional Collegiate Summer Circuit, held at the IU Varsity Tennis Courts, was a success as the day was filled with fierce competition and great weather.
"The first day went really well," said IU women's tennis associate head coach Ramiro Azcui. "The weather cooperated and the matches were exciting. We are all looking forward to the second day of the tournament."
Indiana's Stephanie Heller advanced to the third round following a 6-0, 6-2 win over Shannon Vivian, from Methodist University. Heller received a bye in the first round. Heller will play Dana Larsen in round number three.
"Stephanie played very well today and we hope to see her keep it up in tomorrow's matches," said Azcui.
