Pike Wins Indianapolis Amateur

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's golf standout Brandon Pike won the Indiana Golf Association's Indianapolis Amateur held on Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 11-12. The junior knocked off Brad Smith in a playoff to earn the championship at Pleasant Run Golf Course.
Pike opened the 36-hole event with a sterling 5-under-par 66 on Saturday. The LaFontaine, Ind., native reeled off five birdies on the front nine and played level par on the back.
After going out even on Sunday, Pike recorded birdies on No.'s 10 and 12 to come in at 2-under par for a final-round 69. Pike and Smith finished two shots clear of the field. Ross Cosat and Matt Schumaker shared third place at 5-under.
