10 Questions with Demetrius McCray

Throughout the 2007 Training Camp, IUHOOSIERS.com will sit down and get to know some of the Hoosier football players a little better. Thursday's chat is with sophomore running back Demetrius McCray.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
"Tampa, Florida...back home. I don't get a chance to go back there much, so I could see my family."
What is something about you that would surprise most people?
"I wear a grill (in my mouth.). A gold grill. Some people ask why, and I just tell them that's what we do back home in the South."
What class are you looking forward to most this semester?
"I enjoy my telecommunications classes, whether it's video or broadcasting, because that's my major."
Which teammate has the best sense of humor?
"It's a tie between Chris Phillips and James Bailey. They are two funny characters. Chris can keep people laughing for days. James is one of my best friends and he makes me laugh all the time."
If you weren't playing football, what sport would you be playing?
"Golf. I'm not very good, but it just looks the easiest."
What game are you looking forward to most this season?
"Indiana State because that's the first game and we want to come out there and prove something."
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
"My grandmother. She passed away in 2001 of brain cancer. My mother and I lived with her for a couple years and she always told me to be respectful in whatever I do and put God first. I have a tattoo of her on my arm also."
What is your favorite place on campus to go to relax?
"The locker room. We have three 50" flat screen TV's and couches so we can lay down and go to sleep."
What is your favorite food?
"That has to be a tie between watermelon and honeydew. I love them."
Do you have any pregame superstitions?
"Our equipment manager won't like this, but before every game last year I got a new pair of cleats. I hate playing a game in an old pair of cleats...I can't stand it."
