BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Three-time Indiana University men's soccer All-American Pat Noonan (1999-2002) is one of 26 players named by U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley to the training camp roster that will begin workouts Jan. 3 at the U.S. Soccer's National Training Center at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The group will prepare for the USA's first match of 2008, a friendly against Sweden on Jan. 19 at the Home Depot Center.
Noonan just completed his fifth season with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. He has helped lead the team to three-straight MLS Cup appearances but is still searching for his first title. In 2007, the forward appeared in 28 games, tallying seven goals and four assists.
Noonan enters the camp with 13 career caps and one goal. While injuries have limited his time with the national team in each of the last two seasons, Noonan was effective during the team's qualifying schedule for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was also an alternate selection to the World Cup squad.
Over his five-year MLS career Noonan has played in 120 games while scoring 37 goals and 29 assists. In 2004 he shared the MLS Budweiser Scoring Championship with MetroStars midfielder Armado Guevara, recording 11 goals and eight assists for a league-leading 30 points.
In 2006, Noonan was on the field for all 120 minutes of the Cup championship game against the Houston Dynamo. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw through regulation and extra time before the Dynamo prevailed, 4-3 on penalty kicks.
