• Indiana is now 17-2 on the season, the best start for IU since the 1992-93 squad opened 17-2 en route to a 31-4 record and a Big Ten Championship.
• Connecticut's victory snapped a 29-game winning streak for the Hoosiers in Assembly Hall, stretching back to Feb. 11, 2006. It also put an end to IU's 13-game overall winning streak this season.
• Indiana had a strong night from beyond the arc against the Huskies, shooting 11-for-20 from the outside. It is IU's second game in the last three that it has made 11 3-pointers, as IU was 11-for-23 against Penn State. It is the third time this season and first time since Nov. 18 that the Hoosiers have shot better than 50 percent from the outside.
• The Hoosiers were led by Armon Bassett, who was 6-for-8 from downtown and led IU with 18 points. Over the last three games, Bassett is 13-for-16 from the outside. Bassett added three assists, two rebounds and two steals. His six treys were a career-high and he leads the Big Ten shooting 55.2% from three point range.
• The Hoosiers had nine turnovers in the contest, a season low. IU forced 14 UConn turnovers and made eight steals in the game.
• Indiana opened the game 3-for-3 from the outside to open a 9-0 lead over the Huskies. It is the largest run to open a game for IU since jumping ahead 11-0 against Chicago State on Dec. 29.
• D.J. White had 13 points and 10 rebounds for his 15th double-double in his last 22 games. The senior has 12 double-doubles this season. His 10 rebounds give him 601 in his career, becoming the 20th Hoosier with 600 or more rebounds. He also had two blocks.
• Eric Gordon finished with 14 points for IU, his 17th game this year that he has scored in double digits. Gordon added three rebounds and four assists for IU.
• Jordan Crawford provided a key spark off the bench for the Hoosiers, scoring 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting.
• Jamarcus Ellis scored three points and added five boards, two assists and two steals in the contest.
• Lance Stemler scored five points off the bench, shooting 2-for-3 in 14 minutes of action.
• Mike White started the game and grabbed three offensive rebounds in the first half.
