Hoosiers Continue to Give Back

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball continues to give back to the Bloomington community as they took time out of their busy schedule to help out at Jill's House on Sunday, Jan. 27.
The Hoosiers, along with Director of Basketball Operations Stephanie Siler, stuffed envelopes for the Jill's House Golf Scramble, which will be held on June 20.
Jill's House, Inc. is an independent 501(c) (3) organization working to raise funds to build a residence for cancer patients and their caregivers near the Indiana University Cyclotron. The cyclotron has been converted to a state-of-the-art Proton Therapy Center in Bloomington. This treatment center is now in operation. Jill's House will be similar to a Ronald McDonald House or a Hope Lodge and is for the express purpose of housing and supporting cancer patients undergoing this remarkably effective radiation treatment.
Only Loma Linda, Calif. and Massachusetts General in Boston have proton therapy at this time. The Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute will provide access to this treatment for those residing in the mid-section of the country. One-fourth of the U.S. population resides within a 300-mile radius of Bloomington.
