Men's Soccer Announces 2008 Spring Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's soccer spring schedule features home matches against three NCAA Tournament teams and a battle with in-state rival Notre Dame, the program announced Jan. 30.
Things kick off on March 5 with a Red/White indoor scrimmage at the Bloomington SportsPlex. The first official match of the spring season is slated for March 28 as NCAA quarterfinalist UIC comes to Bloomington for a 7:30 p.m. match. Last season Indiana was a 1-0 winner over the Flames.
Another NCAA Tournament participant, the Louisville Cardinals, visit Armstrong Stadium on April 1 at 7:30 p.m. On April 5 Indiana will take part in the Bucks College Cup at the Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Mich. IU will face Oakland at 9:10 a.m., followed my a match with Big Ten foe Michigan at 12:55 p.m. The Ultimate Soccer Arena is a 267,000-square foot indoor facility which features two full-size soccer fields.
On Saturday, April 12, Indiana will travel to Ft. Wayne to face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at 7 p.m. Always an exciting matchup between these two teams, last year Indiana was a 3-2 winner during the regular season in South Bend.
The Hoosiers play host to NCAA College Cup participant Virginia Tech on Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m. In addition, there are plans for the Hoosiers to face the Mexican Youth National Team, but the date and time of that match has yet to be determined.
