BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University men's soccer staff will hold its annual Midwest Soccer Coaches Symposium, March 28-29 in Bloomington.
The two-day symposium will feature field sessions and talks given by the IU head coach Mike Freitag and his staff, UIC head coach and Indiana alum John Trask, and U.S. Men's National Team assistant coach John Hackworth. In addition, IU alum and former EPL goalkeeper Juergen Sommer will conduct a goalkeeping session, along with a leadership seminar by nationally-recognized performance consultant Rob Kehoe.
The symposium is designed to offer soccer coaches throughout the Midwest two days of professional development. The information and coaching sessions give coaches an opportunity to grow the game. Field sessions will address offensive and defensive principles, technical and tactical development and positional play.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 28 and is followed by a full day of clinics leading up to the exhibition match of Indiana vs. UIC at 7:30 p.m. Saturday's events get underway at 9 a.m. with the goalkeeping seminar and conclude with Kehoe's leadership talk.
Cost of the symposium is $160 with pre-registration and $170 with on-site registration. For information on how to register, call 1-800-999-7667.
