Gruter Takes Runner-up Finish at Louisville Tournament

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Indiana wrapped up competition at the Louisville Invitational tournament on Sunday. Santiago Gruter earned a runner-up finish in the top singles flight.
Gruter took the first set in his showdown with Louisville's Robert Rotaru in the finals, but was unable to finish it out, losing 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. Gruter won four matches in the 'A' flight singles bracket.
Gruter and freshman Stephen Vogl also competed in the 'A' flight doubles on Sunday, dropping a tight match to Jose Moncada and Alasdair Graetz of DePaul (9-7). The DePaul duo went on to win the tournament.
The Hoosiers are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 16, when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to open the ITA Midwest Regional.
