BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana lost a senior day game to the 12th-ranked Louisville Cardinals. The game ended with a 2-1 final tally.
In their final regular season game at IU Field Hockey Field, seniors Danitra Castro and Katie Kiper both managed to put a shot on goal, forcing Louisville goalie Heather Bustanoby to make the two saves she recorded in the game.
Kiper's SOG led to Indiana's lone goal. The senior forward put a hard shot off the keeper, and junior Alina Valenti picked up the rebound and recorded her fifth goal of the season.
After a first half that saw the Cardinals take nine penalty corners, the Hoosiers held the Louisville team to just three in the second half. Both of Louisville's goals came on penalty corner opportunities, with Nicole Youman and Tuli Lim netting the scores.
The Hoosiers move to 7-9 on the year and remain at 1-4 in the Big Ten. The Cardinals advance to 13-5 on the season.
The Hoosiers are back in action on Sat. Nov. 1, when they take on the Wildcats of Northwestern in a 1 p.m. ET contest. The game will be broadcast on tape delay by Big Ten Network, with the first airing at 5 p.m. ET.
