BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Battle for the Old Oaken Bucket between Indiana and Purdue on Saturday, Nov. 22, will kick off at noon EST in West Lafayette, Ind., and will be televised on ESPN2. All games can also be heard on the statewide IU Radio Network (Don Fischer, Pete Compise and Joe Smith).
Game times are predicated on the Big Ten Conference television agreement with ABC, the Big Ten Network, ESPN and ESPN2 and are often not announced until 12 days before kickoff.
The Old Oaken Bucket is the trophy awarded to the winner of the annual Indiana-Purdue game. This year marks the 84th battle for the bucket and the 111th overall meeting in the series.
Indiana reclaimed the Old Oaken Bucket for the first time since 2001 with a 27-24 victory last season in Bloomington. Austin Starr made a 49-yard field goal with 30 seconds left to help propel the Hoosiers to the 2007 Insight Bowl, their first bowl appearance since 1993.
