Indiana Game Notes
Indiana vs. Northeastern
12-22-08
• The loss was Indiana's first at Assembly Hall this season and the first non-conference loss for the Hoosiers since a 68-63 win by Connecticut on Jan. 26, 2008. IU is now 183-19 (.906) against non-conference opponents in the building all-time.
The Hoosiers are now 2-1 against Northeastern all-time and lost for the first time against a Colonial Athletic Association foe, dropping to 10-1 in program history.
• Nick Williams' layup just four seconds into the game marked the fastest basket scored by the Hoosiers in a game this season. It is the third time this year that Williams has scored Indiana's first field goal, and IU is now 2-1 when he scores first.
• The Hoosiers won the battle of the boards against the Huskies, 31-26, the fourth time that IU has outrebounded the opposition.
• Tom Pritchard posted his fourth career double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds. Nine of his boards in the game came on the defensive glass, which was also a career best. All four of the freshman's double-doubles have come on Branch McCracken Court, where he is averaging 16.4 points and 10.4 boards on the season.
• Indiana opened the game on a 12-3 run, shooting 5-for-7 out of the gate over the game's first five minutes.
• Daniel Moore's three early in the first half was the second of the freshman's career. He finished the game with five points and two assists.
• Devan Dumes finished in double figures with 13 points to lead IU in the scoring column. He added three assists and a steal.
• Kyle Taber made his fourth straight start, grabbing six rebounds and scoring six points.
• Nick Williams scored four points and grabbed five rebounds for the Hoosiers. Verdell Jones III had two points, two blocks and two assists off the bench.
• Malik Story grabbed two rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench, while Matt Roth had a steal in 17 minutes.
• Broderick Lewis played three first-half minutes for IU and Brett Finkelmeier tallied less than a minute of action at the end of the first half.
