BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana field hockey head coach Amy Robertson recently received USA Field Hockey Level III coaching certification at the inaugural invitation-only USFHA Level III accreditation course held in Palm Springs, Calif.
The USFHA's comprehensive coaching accreditation program features four course levels, ranging from developmental to international/elite levels. Eighteen high-performance international and NCAA coaches were invited to the inaugural Level III coaching course, hosted by USFHA technical director Terry Walsh.
"The Level III course was the first of its kind for coaches in the United StateS," Roberstson said. "We have been so fortunate to have Terry Walsh working with our men's and women's U.S. field hockey programs to help to get us on par with the cutting edge in modern hockey."
"The Level III course itself was an incredible opportunity and honor for me," Robertson continued, "as I was able to be a part of gaining and sharing hockey knowledge amongst the most elite coaches working in the US and from our current men's and women's National team coaches along with Terry Walsh."
Roberson was also invited to coach the United States U-19 team this spring after leading the 2007 Midwest High Performance team to a second place finish last summer.
Having been with the IU field hockey program from its beginnings in 2000 through this past season, Robertson has produced three All-Americans, 15 All-Big Ten selections including 2007 first team members Haley Exner and Meredith Brown.
