
Zimmerman Leads Fourth Quarter Comeback Over Maryland, 10-9

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Hoosiers made it a two-game sweep on the first day of the Elite Six Tournament in College Park, Md., picking up a 10-9 win over Maryland (10-5) in the second game of the day. Brooke Zimmerman showed why she is one of the most prolific goal scorers in Indiana (7-7) history, coming up with four goals, including the final two to complete the fourth quarter comeback.
Zimmerman scored the game-tying goal in the fourth quarter and then came out of a timeout with less than two minutes left and gave IU the lead for good. She now has 32 goals this season 161 goals in her career.
Maryland took a one goal lead after the first period but the Hoosiers clawed back with three goals in the second to tie the score at 4-4 at the halfway point. The Terps came out in the third period to take another lead, 7-6 before Zimmerman's heroics in the fourth quarter gave IU the win.
Nicole Redder scored three goals in the win and Amy Moore, Kelsey Campbell and Kelly Palmberg each scored lone goals to help the Indiana offense.
The 20th ranked Hoosiers return to the pool in College Park on Sunday for two more games starting with a 9:00 a.m. matchup with Princeton before taking on No. 15 Hartwick at 2:00 p.m.
