BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's golf team stands in fourth place after the first two rounds of the 2008 adidas Hoosier Invitational with a total score of 590 (306-284) at the IU Championship Golf Course on Saturday, March 30.
Eastern Kentucky currently leads the field with a score of 582 (304-278), while Miami (Ohio) is just two shots under the leader 584 (282-302). Purdue is currently in third at 586 (297-289).
Senior Santiago Quirarte leads the individual leaderboard and is second overall after shooting a 2-under 69 in the second round. Coupled with a 73 on the first 18, Quirarte ended the day even at 142. Quirarte is a member of the Indiana Crimson team, which is made up of five individuals. The IU Crimson squad stands in fifth place at 592 (295-297).
Junior Drew Allenspach leads the first-team Hoosiers in a three-way tie for sixth at 3-over-par 145 (75-70). Right behind Allenspach is junior Jorge Campillo, who is tied for 12th at 147 (76-71).
True freshman Ren Han shares 18th place at 148 (78-70) followed by sophomore Alex Martin and junior Seth Brandon. Martin is tied for 30th place at 150 (77-73), while Brandon is tied for 43rd at 152 (78-74).
Joining Quirarte on the Crimson team is fifth-year senior Tad Sacheck, who posted a 72-77 to enter a tie for 22nd place. Junior Brandon Pike shares 36th place at 151 (78-73), while Eric Serch is tied for 43rd with 152 (72-80).
True freshman Paul Park closed out the lineup at 156 (78-78) and is tied for 67th place.
Eastern Kentucky's Jesse Massie heads the leaderboard at 3-under-par 139 (74-65), shooting 6-under-par 65 on the second 18.
