Well...The Big Ten Championship is over and I am at a loss for what exactly to say. It seems like just yesterday I was playing in my first collegiate event and now this could have possibly been my last round. We will find out tomorrow at 5pm if we make Regionals or not. We are very hopeful and anxious to see what happens.
Today we shot 306 as a team and finished fourth. Not a bad showing for the Hoosiers but definitely room for improvement. Purdue won, a well deserved win for them. They are really taking women's golf to a new level and it pushes us all to work harder and get better. We are now waiting around for our flight to leave State College, PA and will arrive back to Bloomington around 1 am. Exams start tomorrow so our cramming has begun! Next Friday is our team banquet at Coach's house where we will give out team awards and reflect over our year.
Since this is probably the last journal entry I will be writing for IU Women's Golf I want to send out thank you's and shoutouts! Firstly, I want to thank my teammates and coaches for everything. They have been my family away from home and the opportunity to get to know them has been so rewarding for me! Thank you to IU staff and administration for making my transition to IU a smooth and enjoyable one. I want to thank all of our parents..The Gahirs, Paul Doucet, Nochtas, Uncle Todd, The Lindgrens, Harris's, Belchers, The Breys and Gieseckes. Also to my parents and family, I love you all and want to thank you for your encouragement and support throughout my career. To everyone from Laurinburg who has continuously kept up with me and been supportive...thank you. And finally to my Btown Townies...I love you all. Bloomington has been a great home for the past year and a half!

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -
The end of our season has arrived and it is finally time to compete for
the Big Ten Championship! Personally, it seems surreal that my college
career has almost come to a close. The girls and I have really had a
good week of practice and were able to work on key points of our games
to prepare for Penn State this weekend. I am really looking forward to
a good showing and being able to enjoy yet another weekend on the
course with my teammates. These girls are amazing and supportive and
so much more than I could have hoped for as friends and teammates. OK
OK enough of the sappy stuff!
Today was our practice round and we played this morning at 11 am in two threesomes. We will be attending a Big Ten Banquet tonight at Penn State's stadium...very exciting! Elaine and I will be recognized for being seniors! Dinner is usually pretty delicious. After the banquet we will come back to our hotel and have the team meeting. Coach has asked Elaine and I to run the meeting tonight. We will talk about our goals personally and as a team. Then its time for bed. Tomorrow will be a long day full of golf. We are ready to go and bring home the Big Ten title. Thank you to everyone for all of your support this season! Check us out on golfstat.com for live scoring!
GO HOOSIERS,
