OXFORD, Miss. - The Indiana men's tennis team spent its second day on the campus of the University of Mississippi focusing on the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Hoosiers first round opponent on Saturday at the Oxford Regional of the NCAA Tournament.
The team began the day with a conditioning workout at the hotel, splitting into two groups before departing for lunch. Following lunch, the Hoosiers boarded the bus and returned to the outdoor courts for practice. The team, with scouting reports in hand, began working on the strengths and weaknesses of their respective opponents in both singles and doubles.
After practice, the team returned to the hotel for some well deserved down time. The evening saw the team head to a building adjacent to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the home of Ole Miss football team, for a very informal banquet. The team enjoyed salad, barbeque chicken, mashed potatoes, spaghetti, vegetable medley and cheesecake followed by a brief presentation by Lynnette Johnson, Senior Associate A.D at Ole Miss.
With practices out of the way now, the Hoosiers will take the court at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001.
