Loukas Second, Marzullo Fourth at Diving National Championships

PASADENA, Calif. - Indiana University senior Christina Loukas placed second on the three-meter springboard and sophomore Landon Marzullo was fourth on the platform at the 2008 Kaiser Permanente National Diving Championships being held at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, Calif.
Loukas earned 340.95 points for her dive list, finishing just over eight points behind winner Nancilea Foster (349.35). This was the Olympian's second top-two finish at the meet as she successfully defending her one-meter national title on Thursday. Former Indiana All-American Lindsay Weigle placed 12th overall in the same event (252.85).
On the men's platform, Marzullo captured fourth with a score of 381.30. Teammate Will Bohonyi was sixth (337.80), with David Legler 12th (107.95). Bohonyi also teamed up with sophomore Kris Hill to take third in the synchronized platform event (316.32).
The competition concludes Sunday with the final of the women's platform. Former IU All-American and Olympian Cassandra Cardinell is in first place heading into the finals, tallying a score of 333.50 in Friday's semifinal round.
