ZIONSVILLE, Ind. - Indiana senior All-American Jorge Campillo brought home the individual title from the Wolf Run Intercollegiate on Sunday, finishing two strokes ahead of second place with a one under par 212 (70-70-72) at Wolf Run Golf Course in Zionsville, Ind. As a team, the Hoosiers came in fifth with Michigan taking home the team title.

In the team scores, Indiana finished in fifth with a team total of 896 (296-300-300), just one stroke behind fourth place Kentucky. Michigan was the team champion with a three round team total of 880, Illinois was second at 890 and Louisville finished third at 891.

"Wolf Run is a tremendous venue to host a golf tournament," Indiana head coach Mike Mayer said, "and were are very proud to host a tournament like this here. When you throw the conditions this weekend on top of the course being difficult the way it is, it was quite the challenge."

For Campillo, this was his first tournament victory during the fall season and the seventh win of his career. The senior from Caceres, Spain started the tournament with a pair of 70s before closing with a 72 on Sunday in very difficult conditions.

"We congratulate Jorge for a tremendous tournament," said Mayer, "and his first tournament win during the fall season. He is well on his way to another great year."

Freshman David Erdy, playing in his first collegiate tournament, finished tied for 24th on the weekend by carding a 212 (72-78-76).

"David Erdy played very will for us this weekend," said Mayer, "especially since it was his first collegiate tournament. He showed what kind of talent he has to be able to finish in the top 25 in these conditions."

Alex Martin's three round total of 227 (76-74-77) put him in a tie for 28th while Seth Brandon was four strokes behind him at 231 (78-78-75). Brandon Pike came in with a three round total of 242 (79-78-85) to round out the Indiana scoring.

Drew Allenspach, playing as an individual this weekend rallied from a rough opening round to finish with a 243 (86-79-78), putting him in a tie for 64th.

The final round endured about an hour rain delay with many players need to play just one or two holes to finish their rounds when play was stopped. Play resumed around 3:00 p.m. and concluded shortly before 4:00 p.m.

The Hoosiers will be back on the links next weekend when they travel to Olympia Fields in Chicago for the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational on Sept. 19-21.
