SETTING THE SCENE
• After six nonconference games, Indiana opens Big Ten play on Sunday against the Wisconsin Badgers.
• The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network at 3 p.m.
• The Hoosiers are riding a two-game win streak after a 3-0 win over UCLA and a 2-1 win over San Diego last weekend in Los Angeles.
• Indiana leads the all-times series, 31-3-4, but the Hoosiers and Badgers played to a 0-0 double overtime tie in the 2007 regular season finale in Madison.
• The Hoosiers are 14-0-3 in Big Ten openers since the league began recognizing the sport in 1991.
• Last season Indiana opened conference play with a 3-2 overtime win at Michigan.
• This is the first time Wisconsin and Indiana have met in the conference opener.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Indiana is now 1-0-2 against top-25 teams this season after a 3-0 win over UCLA on Sept. 12.
• The Hoosiers also have a pair of double overtime scoreless ties against Akron and South Florida.
• Goalkeeper Chay Cain recorded his third shutout of the season and the 23rd of his career in the win over UCLA.
• Will Bruin scored his first career goal against the Bruins and added his second score of the weekend in the 2-1 win over San Diego.
• Andy Adlard, Kevin Noschang and Eric Alexander also scored their first goals of the season over the weekend.
• Indiana has won three straight against UCLA, including each of the last two meetings in Los Angeles.
• Out of Indiana's five goals scored over the weekend, three were either a direct or indirect result of a restart.
• Indiana is 1-1 on penalty kick attempts this season.
• Indiana finished as runner up at its adidas/IU Credit Union Classic with a 2-1 win over Duke on Aug. 29 and a 0-0 double overtime tie with No. 12 Akron on Aug. 31.
• 3,239 fans were on hand for the IU-Akron match, which currently ranks eighth in the country this season.
• 3,464 fans were on hand for the 2-1 win over Duke, which ranks sixth.
• Indiana was victorious in its home opener for the first time since 2005.
• Indiana is now 21-10-5 in season openers.
• The Hoosiers finished the preseason with a 2-0 record after a 3-1 victory over Tulsa on Aug. 20 and a 3-0 shutout of North Carolina on Aug. 22,
• With a 0-0 tie with Akron on Aug. 31, Indiana has never lost a match televised on the Big Ten Network, going 3-0-4 in those games.
SCOUTING THE BADGERS
• Wisconsin is 4-1-1 on the season and is coming off its first loss, a 1-0 setback to Binghamton at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Classic on Sept. 14.
• The Badgers are 1-0 against top-25 teams after a 1-0 overtime victory over Santa Clara on Sept. 5.
• This is Wisconsin's first true road match of the season as they are 1-0-1 at home and 3-1 in neutral site matches.
• The Badgers have 10 goals this season, led by Pablo Delgado and Scott Lorenz with two each. Delgado also has three assists for a team-best seven points.
• Eight different Badgers have accounted for the team's 10 goals.
• Alex Horwath has started all six games in goal with a 0.94 GAA in 574:53 minutes of play.
• Wisconsin has allowed six goals while scoring 10 and has outshot its opponents by a slim 84-79 margin.
• Head coach Jeff Rohrman is in his seventh season at Wisconsin and enters the match with a record of 56-57-10. He is assisted by Jon Szczepanski and Nick Pasquarello.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana leads the series, 31-3-4.
• The Hoosiers had won 14 straight dating back to the 1996 season, until last year's 0-0 double overtime tie in Madison.
• Wisconsin's last win came in 1995, a 2-0 victory in Madison.
• Indiana is 13-2-2 against the Badgers in regular season Big Ten matches.
• Lee Hagedorn scored the game-winner for the Hoosiers in 2006, with Brian Ackley and Brad Ring assisting on the score.

• Indiana's match against Wisconsin marks the 300th match at Armstrong Stadium.
• Since the stadium opened in 1981, the Hoosiers have gone 247-38-32 on their home field.
CAIN NABS BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
• Senior goalkeeper Chay Cain was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 15
• It was his third career player of the week honor.
• Cain earned the award with his third shutout over a ranked opponent this season with the 3-0 win over No. 24 UCLA on Sept. 12.
• Cain had one save in the match and increased his career shutout total to 23, which is tied for seventh on the all-time list.
• Against San Diego on Sept. 14, Cain tallied two saves as the Hoosiers recorded a 2-1 victory.
BRUIN GARNERS WEEKLY HONORS
• Freshman forward Will Bruin was named to the Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News Teams of the Week on Sept. 15 for his play in victories at UCLA and vs. San Diego.
• Bruin scored his first career goal in the 3-0 win UCLA, alertly collecting a rebound off a shot off the post, putting home his first career goal.
• He added his second score of the weekend in a 2-1 victory over San Diego.
• Against the Torreros, it was Bruin's score that gave IU a 1-0 lead, this time picking up a rebounded corner kick and slicing it through the defense for the score.
BIG TEN DOMINATION
• Since the Big Ten began sponsoring men's soccer in 1991, the Hoosier have dominated the league.
• The Hoosiers are 77-7-9 in regular season matches, tallying nearly 30 more victories than second-place team Penn State (50).
• Indiana has never lost in its Big Ten opener, going 14-0-3 in those matches.
• IU has won 11 Big Ten tournament titles, sharing the 1995 crown with Wisconsin.
• Indiana has also been crowned regular season champion 13 times, including nine-straight seasons from 1996-2004. IU has now won back-to-back regular season titles in 2006 and 2007.
• Indiana has been the league's goals-against average leader in 15 of 17 seasons, including 2007 when the Hoosiers allowed just two goals in six matches for a 0.31 GAA.
• IU had a league-record 10 Big Ten Players of the Year, including two of the last three seasons.
• The Hoosiers have also boasted the Freshman of the Year two of the last three years.
ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET
• Senior goalkeeper Chay Cain recorded his 23rd career solo shutout on
Sept. 12 when the Hoosiers posted a 3-0 victory at UCLA.
• It was his third shutout of the season (Akron, South Florida).
• Cain recorded 10 shutouts in 2006 and added another 10 in 2007.
• Cain ranks seventh on IU's career shutout list, 10th in saves (153) and ninth in career wins (27).
RANKING THE HOOSIERS
• Indiana ranks among the top 25 in all four polls.
• Indiana climbed five spots to No. 12 in the College Soccer News poll.
• Soccer America bumped the Hoosiers from No. 15 to No. 13.
• The Hoosiers also moved up four spots to No. 13 in the Soccer Times rankings.
• Indiana moves up five spots to No. 14 in the latest NSCAA/adidas rankings.
• Indiana is ranked behind Northwestern (No. 12) and ahead of Ohio State (No. 15) in the Soccer Times poll.
• The Hoosiers are ahead of both Northwestern (No. 15) and Ohio State (No. 23) in Soccer America's top 25.
• Indiana trails Northwestern (No. 11) but is ranked ahead of Ohio State (No. 20) according to College Soccer News.
• The NSCAA/adidas poll has Northwestern ahead of Indiana at No. 9, and Ohio State behind the Hoosiers at No. 15.
SCORING DEPTH
•Indiana showed its depth during the preseason as the six goals were scored by six different players.
• Andy Adlard, John Mellencamp and Michael Roach came with the scores against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes in a 3-1 win.
• In the 3-0 win over North Carolina, it was Neil Wilmarth, Brian Ackley and Kevin Noschang putting the ball in the net.
• That trend has continued into the regular season with Indiana's seven goals coming from six different players.
• Only freshman Will Bruin has multiple goals with two.
OFF THE ROAD
•Indiana returns home after a four-game stretch on the road where it went 2-1-1.
• The Hoosiers will play their next two at home (Wisconsin, UC Santa Barbara) before heading back on the road for three of its next four (Sept. 30 at Evansville; Oct. 7 at Butler; Oct. 12 at Michigan State).
TIME CHANGE
•Indiana's match against Northwestern on Friday, Nov. 7 has been moved to a 6:30 p.m. ET start time to accomodate the Big Ten Network live broadcast. That is a half hour later than the previous time of 6 p.m. ET.
