ABOUT COACH DUNBAR
Coach Sherry Dunbar is in her third year at Indiana University. In her first season, Indiana compiled more Big Ten wins than in the previous three seasons combined. This past season, Coach Dunbar led the Hoosiers to a 6th place Big Ten finish and an overall record of 17-15. Both feats have not been accomplished since 2002. In 2008, Dunbar coached senior Erica Short to Honorable mention All-Big Ten, AVCA Mideast Region team and Honorable mention All-America along with sophomore Ashley Benson to All-Big Ten honors and Honorable mention AVCA Mideast Region team.
With Coach Dunbar at the helm, the future looks promising as the Hoosiers work towards their goal of being a perennial national contender. Coach Dunbar is an Indiana native and a Ball State University alum as well as a member of the BSU all-Decade team. After assistant coaching stints at the University of San Francisco and the University of Tennessee, Dunbar started her head coaching career at the College of Charleston in South Carolina where she compiled a 113-22 record, earned three NCAA Tournament berths and was two-time Southern Conference Coach of the Year.
