Hoosiers Flawlessly Open the Florida Gulf Coast Shootout

FT. MYERS, Fla. - The Hoosiers opened the Florida Gulf Coast Shootout on Monday, not dropping a single match on the day. The Hoosiers garnered victories in four doubles matches and eight singles matches, all against opponents from Florida Gulf Coast University. The shootout pits FGCU, Indiana and Louisville against each other in a week-long individual tournament between the three teams. The individual and doubles team with the best record at the end of the week will be named tournament champion.
Senior Peter Antons and sophomores Lachlan Ferguson and Santiago Gruter led the way for IU, each winning a doubles match and a singles bout on the day. Gruter and Antons joined forces to take down Rafael Costa and Thibaud Aime 9-7.
