BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana forward Shareyna Chang was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after helping the No. 20 Indiana field hockey team to a pair of wins over the weekend.
Against Penn State on Oct. 23, Chang totaled three points on a goal and an assist, scoring Indiana's first goal and assisting on the game-winner in a 4-1 IU victory. Two days later against Pacific, the freshman's two shots were a part of a relentless Indiana offense that fired 18 toward the net in a 3-0 victory.
Chang has two goals on the season and an assist for five points. The honor was the first for Chang and IU. She shares this week's award with Kelsey Amy from Penn State.
The Hoosiers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 31, when they take on Michigan in Ann Arbor at 1 p.m. ET.
