BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University volleyball team (13-5, 2-2) received nine votes in the latest Coaches Top-25 Poll, released Monday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
It has taken Head Coach Sherry Dunbar just over two years to convert a program that won a combined five Big Ten matches in the three seasons prior to her arrival, into a team that is now on the national radar. With nine votes, the Hoosiers are the 39th-highest slotted team in the country.
Following a competitive non-conference schedule which resulted in an 11-3 record, the Hoosiers have begun the Big Ten slate with two wins over teams that have been ranked in the top-20 at some point this season; including a 3-1 victory over current-#18 Michigan State.
The upcoming road doesn't get any easier either as Indiana travels to Champaign, Ill., on Saturday for a match versus the No. 12 Fighting Illini.
