Hoosiers Host No. 8 Michigan State, Central Michigan This Weekend

HOOSIERS VS. WEEKEND'S OPPONENT
Indiana will face No. 8 Michigan State on Friday in the Hoosiers second home game of the season. The Spartans lead the all-time series, 12-1, after winning the two team's last meeting, 9-1, in East Lansing on Oct. 3, 2008.
The Spartans are currently 9-3 and 1-0 in the Big Ten, winning their last four, including a 2-1 overtime victory at Louisville. MSU is led by Floor Rijpma who owns 10 goals and three assists for 23 points on the season. She also leads the team with 58 shots taken in 12 games. Manouk Vernij is close behind with seven goals and a team-best eight assists for 22 points. Jantine Steinmetz also has seven goals for 14 points.
Central Michigan enters Saturday's game with a 3-7 markand are currently on a three-game losing streak. The Hoosiers lead the all-time series, 4-1, winning a 1-0 overtime game in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. The Chippewas are led by Kelly Jordan with five goals and six assists for 16 points.
THIS WEEKEND'S PROMOTIONS
Friday's game vs. the Spartans will be a Crimson Club Day. IU students who attend will receive five points toward their Crimson Club Rewards. Also, the first 200 students will receive a free IU rally towel. On Saturday, the Hoosiers want you to PINK OUT and help in the support of Breast Cancer Awareness by wearing pink to their battle vs. Central Michigan.
HOOSIER LEADERS
Redshirt freshman Morgan Fleetwood leads the Hoosiers with six goals and 16 points in 11 games. She also owns four assists on the season. Junior Kelsey Kiper leads IU with six assists to go along with one goal for eight points. Senior Alina Valenti has four goals and two assists for 10 points, while senior Meg O'Connell, freshman Brooke Borneman, sophomore Corey Brautigam and redshirt sophomore Brenna Moeljadi each owns two goals a piece.
LAST TIME OUT
Redshirt freshman Morgan Fleetwood scored at the 53:45 mark to give the Indiana field hockey team a 1-0 win over California on Grant Field in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Hoosiers and the Golden Bears battled throughout the entire first period matching each other on shots with three a piece. However, the Hoosiers took over in the second period and dominated on offense, outshooting Cal, 8-1, with Fleetwood's goal coming near the 54th minute. She scored on an assist from freshman Brooke Borneman, which was set up by a corner from junior Kelsey Kiper.
Fleetwood took seven shots, with five on goal and redshirt sophomore Brenna Moeljadi took two shots. Junior Alex Mann started in goal for the Hoosiers and tallied one save in 70 minutes. Moeljadi also tallied a defensive save at the 3:35 mark in the first period. Junior Mutsa Mutembwa recorded her third defensive save of the season with 63:46 on the clock.

The Hoosiers will celebrate Homecoming with Northwestern at the IU Field Hockey Field at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 17. IU's battle with the Wildcats will be a Big Ten Network broadcast that will be taped delayed on Sunday, Oct. 18 at Noon.
