Indiana vs. Ole Miss
Post Game Quotes
November 19, 2009
Coach Tom Crean
"Coach Buckley said it at halftime that there were times in the first half where we played with selective toughness , meaning we were mature and aggressive with a lot of energy, but Ole Miss played with collective toughness and that is the difference right now."
"We made too many mistakes to win the game. They were more physical and we didn't do a great job of playing through that. But at the same time we did make some really good plays and stayed aggressive. We had 53 deflections and 24 offensive rebounds. We got to the foul line, but did't take advantage of it."
"Our guys will grow. The great thing is that we have to come back in 24 hours and play a game. I think the coaches learn a great deal on these trips, but not nearly as much as the players do."
"I was really proud of the way our guys fought through things. Devan Dumes did a great job for us late to help us get back in the game. He played with that energy and fire that we need for him to have. Jeremiah Rivers really did some good things and Verdell continued to compete. There is no doubt that we are getting better. We just made too many mistakes in the end.
"A loss is a loss. We just have to come back and improve and get tougher. We want to grow as a team and games like this can help us understand how tough it is to compete at this level."
"We got out to a quick start, but these guys play at a high level and a lot of our team is seeing this for the first time. I've been fortunate to play against some great competition at Georgetown, but I am proud of the way we kept fighting. The nice thing is we come out tomorrow."
"I think you try and take away the positives, but you don't forget what you need to improve on."
