Eighteen Football Hoosiers Earn Academic All-Big Ten Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Eighteen Hoosier football student-athletes earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, the conference office announced Tuesday. Student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better to be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection.
A total of 93 Hoosier student-athletes were honored by the league, which ranked second behind Ohio State's 95. IU's football team led the way with its 18 honorees followed by women's soccer and field hockey with 17 and women's cross country with 14. The men's cross country team garnered 12 honorees, while the men's soccer team pulled in 10 and the volleyball team had five players recognized.
Leon Beckum, Brandon Bugg, Trea Burgess, Ben Chappell, Zach Davis-Walker, Max Dedmond, Mitchell Evans, Nick Ford, Jammie Kirlew, Jamie Lukaszewski, Alex Perry, Mike Reiter, Tyler Replogle, Jeff Sanders, Pete Saxon, Teddy Schell, Collin Taylor and Brian Zematis represented the football team.
