COMPETITION CAMP
June 16-20, 2009 • Junior High and High School ages
Objective:
The Competition Camp focuses on just that... Competition! This camp will provide an
opportunity to compete against other teams and individuals from across the nation. This is a great opportunity for teams to acquire immeasurable experience wrestling as a "TEAM" and for each individual to gain experience that only comes from actual competition.
Program:
Each team will compete against other teams in dual meets all week long. Each team may get 10 or more matches. IU wrestlers will coach each team. Technique sessions will be held daily, featuring the IU Staff and counselors. Individuals as well as entire teams are encouraged to attend. Those who apply as individuals or partial teams (9 or less)
will be added to other groups to make full teams. Every effort will be made to keep competitors from the same school together.
TRAINING CAMP
June 21-25, 2009 • Junior High and High School ages
Objective
The Training Camp is designed to bring out the best in each participant. Tough intelligent training creates tough intelligent competitors. It is our goal to provide a training environment that will not only be beneficial for the short term, but
one that will help develop an understanding of what it takes to train for success at every level of competition.
Program
Due to the intensive requirements of this camp, registration will be limited to 60 participants. All aspects of training will be incorporated including competitive wrestling, technique, strength training, video analysis and conditioning. There
will be a high camper to counselor ratio so that participants receive the utmost attention. It is strongly suggested that participants arrive at camp with a satisfactory conditioning base.
TECHNIQUE CAMPS
June 16-19 and June 21-24, 2009 • Grades 3 through 12 (Campers younger than the 3rd grade may attend with a parent ONLY.
Objective
The Technique Camp is essential for skill development. While goals and dedication are
vital to achieving success in wrestling, without knowledge of technique, it will be very difficult to reach your full potential. Instruction will be given covering all areas in all styles of wrestling. We will demonstrate skills that are proven effective in competition and will help to make you a complete wrestler.
Program
We will emphasize learning by doing. It is important that a great deal of your learning time is hands-on experience. Quality demonstration is essential, but we will not let you be lulled to sleep with drawn-out presentations. Each detail will be made clear, and then you will learn by actual execution.
