Hoosiers Host DePaul on Saturday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The #30 Indiana University women's tennis team (7-1) hosts the DePaul Blue Demons (6-2) on Saturday (Feb. 14) inside the IU Tennis Center at 11 a.m. DePaul is ranked No. 57 in the latest ITA Rankings.
This weekend marks the first "lone-match weekend," as the Hoosiers played a pair of matches in each of the first four weeks of the spring season. for live match updates.
Indiana has won the last five meetings between the two schools, last dropping a decision to the Blue Demons in 2003. This season, DePaul's two losses both came to top-30 teams, including a tight 4-3 defeat versus No. 28 Texas last weekend.
HERBERT CUP WINNERS ONCE AGAIN
The IU women's tennis program has earned the Adam Herbert Cup for the fall semester. It marks the third consecutive semester in which women's tennis has taken home the award. The Herbert Cup is awarded to the IU program with the highest overall team GPA.
NOT PLAYING LIKE A FRESHMAN
True freshman Megan Matter has jumped immediately into the starting line-up after joining the Hoosiers at the start of the spring semester. Matter not only cracked both the singles and doubles line-up right away, but she has also excelled during the early season slate. The Leawood, Kan., native has posted records of 6-1 and 6-2 in singles and doubles, respectively. She has played No. 3 doubles in every match and No. 6 singles in all but one.
GETTING SIGGY WITH IT
Senior captain Sigrid Fischer is off to a great start of the spring season, winning seven singles matches already compared to just one defeat. In addition, all seven victories came in straight sets as Fischer has won 14 of 16 sets thus far. She has also performed well on the doubles court, pairing with Myriam Sopel to win four of their last six matches together at No. 2 doubles.
