BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University volleyball team is scheduled to compete in three events this spring, playing three consecutive weekends in the month of April. With just six healthy players on the roster, the Hoosiers should have plenty of opportunities to hone in on improving their skills.
Head Coach Sherry Dunbar and her Hoosiers get things started on April 4 with a trip to the Indianapolis Collegiate Invite, played at the Circle City Club Team Facility. The Hoosiers are guaranteed to play a minimum of four matches up Indianapolis with possible match-ups against the following schools: Purdue, Valparaiso, Xavier, Albany and Ball State.
Next up for the Cream and Crimson is a home tournament on Apr. 11 inside the friendly confines of University Gym. The surroundings will not be the only thing the Hoosiers find familiar, however, as one of their opponents will be the IU Alumni Team that is expected in include 2008-team member and all-time IU digs queen, Juli Pierce. Indiana will also face the University of Indianapolis and the Sycamores of Indiana State. That event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and admission is free.
The Hoosiers complete their competitive spring schedule the following weekend (Apr. 18) by heading to the northern part of the state for the 2nd Annual Dunes Invite, hosted by the Dunes Volleyball Club. Schools registered for the event include: IU, Valparaiso, Illinois, Indiana State, Ohio State, Akron, Eastern Michigan, IPFW, Lewis, Loyola-Chicago, Michigan, Bowling Green, Western Michigan and Butler.
