BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University head men's soccer coach Mike Freitag and his staff will hold the 13th annual Midwest Soccer Coaches Symposium, April 3-4 in Bloomington.
Joining forces with adidas, the symposium is designed to offer soccer coaches throughout the Midwest two days of professional development. The informative and stimulating coaching sessions give coaches an opportunity to grow with the game. Field sessions will address offensive and defensive principles, technical and tactical development and positional play.
Freitag and assistant coaches Phil Presser and Aleksey Korol will share many of the training sessions and thoughts that go into their own team. Also taking part in the program this year are U-18 U.S. National Team head coach Mike Matkovich, Butler University head men's soccer coach Kelly Findley, and legendary St. Louis high school coach Terry Michler.
"The 2009 Midwest Soccer Coaches Symposium is stacking up to be among the best we have presented," Freitag said. "This year's clinicians are outstanding. They bring a wealth of knowledge and will share thoughts and activities that will help you grow with the game. We look forward to seeing our annual guests along with new coaches at this year's symposium."
In addition to the coaching sessions, attendees will also have a chance to watch two top-level Division I programs in action as Indiana takes on Butler in a match on Friday, April 3.
