A GRAND WIN
Senior shorstsop Emily Bergeson played the biggest role in earning head coach Michelle Gardner her first win as Hoosier head coach when she hit a grand slam against UC Riverside to put IU ahead 6-0. It was the first grand slam by a Hoosier since Sara Olson did it on April 25, 2008 against Illinois.
The home run was the 11th of Bergeson's career, moving her to within one of the top ten all time at Indiana.
TRUE RELIEF
Indiana head coach Michelle Gardner has pulled the right strings so far this season when bringing in a relief pitcher. Through the first eleven games, Gardner has had to bring in a relief pitcher on 12 occasions. And in all but one of those occasions, the pitcher has retired the first batter they have faced.
Here's a look at each occasion:

STREAKING
Junior outfielder Jennifer Glueckert extended her hit streak to five games before going hitless against Florida State last weekend. The streak started against Pacific on Feb. 7 with a single and continued against Cal State Fullerton as she drew a walk and put down a sacrifice bunt so she did not register a plate appearance. Then in Houston, the South Bend native logged a single against Oklahoma State on Saturday and then followed that up with a 2-for-3 effort against North Carolina State and finished the weekend with a single against Oklahoma State. She then started with a single against UC Riverside at the Seminole Classic. After going hitless versus the Seminoles, she got back on track with a pair of triples against East Carolina.
